Chivas kicked off the Bicentennial 2010 soccer tournament this weekend with an emphatic win in the Estadio Jalisco against the highly regarded Toluca, sparking predictions that this could be their year.

"We are thinking about being champions and we are sure that this will be our year," believes striker Javier Hernandez.
It was indeed an impressive opening from the Guadalajara, dominating Toluca from start to finish and running out eventual 3-1 winners.
In the last tournament Chivas had a shoddy start and will be hoping to build on the victory against Los Tigres in Monterrey next Saturday.
Atlas suffered a 2-0 defeat against the Pumas in Mexico City but it seems not all hope is yet lost for them this season. Pumas' goalkeeper was named man-of-the-match, a revealing detail of a second half in which Pumas were forced onto the back foot.
"You have to put the ball in the back of the net and that's what Pumas did," said new Atlas coach Carlos Ischia referring to the slightly flattering scoreline for Pumas.
With Ischia still in the infancy of his reign coaching Atlas, time will be needed to get the team organized.
Another loss in the Ciudad Universitaria against Pumas means Atlas have now gone an incredible 16 years with winning there.
The Estudiantes of the Universidad Autonoma de Guadalajara suffered a 3-0 defeat in Pachuca, pouring cold water on hopes that a great preseason (in which they qualified for the Copa Libertadores) could immediatedly transferred into a good start of the season.
