Dora Ducet, 80, a three-year resident of Lakeside, passed away peacefully on December 27 with her husband of 60 years, Francisco Ducet, by her side.
Born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, Ducet moved to the United States with Francisco and their children, Graciela and Carlos, in 1970. She retired from the Gillette Company in 1987 and, after a great deal of travel, took pleasure in growing a vegetable garden and helping raise her grandchildren.
Ducet moved to Lakeside in December 2006 with her husband, daughter Graciela and her partner, Alberto. The Ducets enjoyed the many new friends they made in Ajijic and were particularly fond of going out to eat and enjoying events at the auditorium.
Two major milestones in 2009 were her 60th wedding anniversary on March 26 and her 80th birthday on November 21.
Ducet is survived by her husband, two children, three grandchildren, a sister and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held on December 29 at Parroquia San Andres in Ajijic followed by burial at the Ajijic cemetery.
