Sarah Brightman, the world’s bestselling soprano, launches her Symphony World Tour in Monterrey on November 4, followed two days later by a concert at Guadalajara’s Auditorio Telmex.

One reviewer called Sarah Brightman’s latest album, “a courageous and diverse album of ambitious proportions.”

That’s not bad for a girl from middle England who started her career as a dancer in a racy all-girl group called Hot Gossip.

Being married to music empresario Andrew Lloyd Webber for six years didn’t harm Brightman’s singing career, which really took off after her critically acclaimed performance in the musical “Phantom of the Opera.”

Brightman has carved out a hugely successful recording career: her duet of “Time to Say Goodbye” with Italian tenor Andrea Bocelli has sold sold more than five million copies worldwide.

In January, Brightman released “Symphony,” her first album in five years, which was influenced by gothic music. Featured are duets with Mexican tenor Fernando Lima, Bocelli and Kiss vocalist Paul Stanley.

One reviewer called the album “a courageous and diverse album of ambitious proportions.”

The album showcases Brightman’s linguistic vocal skills, as she sings in Spanish, Italian, French and, for the first time, German.

In Mexico, “Symphony” entered the album charts at number nine, peaked at number five and was certified gold after selling more than 40,000 copies. In the United States it became Brightman’s most successful chart entry and also her highest ranked album on Billboard’s Top 200 Albums.

Talking to the Reforma newspaper after announcing the tour, Brightman admitted: “It’s the darkest of my albums.”

Brightman said she was thrilled to start her tour in Mexico, a country she “knows well” and that is “full of color, life and diversity.”

Tickets for the November 6 concert in Guadalajara go on sale July 20 from Ticketmaster and at the Auditorio Telmex box office.
