The absorbing combination of classical guitar and flute performed by a first-class husband and wife duo should tempt music lovers to St. Andrew’s Anglican Church for VIVA la Musica’s upcoming concert in its Summer in the Village Series on July 20. Though guitarist David Mozqueda and flutist Nury Ulate Solis have played all over the United States, Mexico and Europe, this will be their first appearance at Lakeside.
![]() Classical guitarist David Mozqueda and flutist Nury Ulate Solis perform July 20 at St. Andrew’s Anglican Church in Riberas del Pilar. The husband and wife duo have performed with some of the continent’s leading symphony orchestras during their illustrious careers. Mozqueda studied at the University of Guadalajara’s School of Music and earned his degree in music as a concert soloist and classical guitar teacher. He earned his masters’ degree at the University of Southern California. Mozqueda has performed as a soloist with the Chamber Orchestra of the Conservatorio de las Rosas, the Nayarit Chamber Orchestra, the University of Guanajuato Symphony Orchestra and the JPO. He has performed by invitation at music festivals in Italy, France, Spain, Bolivia and the United States and given master classes in classical guitar. The couple formed Duo Prelude in 1998 and has performed in festivals in Mexico, the United States, Europe and South America. They have also recorded three CDs over the past ten years. Tickets for the July 20 concert will be on sale at the Tickets, Etc. booth at the Lake Chapala Society July 14 to July 19, 10 a.m. to Noon.
