For Lakesiders eager to encourage local efforts to promote art, visiting “Expresion de Agua,” an exhibit of colorful, dream-like paintings by Antonio Lopez Vega, is a great way to lend support.

Sponsored by the Secretary of Culture, and several other smaller government departments hoping to expand public engagement with the arts, the event is sure to draw a wonderfully mixed audience to the old Chapala train station, now a cultural center. “Expresion de agua” opens (with a cocktail reception) on Saturday, June 14 at 6 p.m., and will remain at the Centro Cultural Gonzalez Gallo (Av. Jesus Gonzalez Gallo 1500) until August 9. For more information, call (376) 765-7424.
