Dear Sir,
I have been reading the Reporter for slightly over three years, and
this is the first time I have ever written to the editor of the paper.
I feel compelled to do so by the letters about Ms. Chaussee’s column in last week’s edition. First, the article was cute, smart and charming. The statement to the contrary was opinion, not a fact. A column is not the same as an editorial. It is one person’s opinion. Too bad the letter writers didn’t get that. This is a blatant attempt at censorship. Three generations of my family actively served in the military to ensure freedom of speech and freedom from censorship. Maybe someone should explain “freedom of the press” to the complainers. I can say Nazi all I want, and so can Ms. Chaussee. By the way, I have never met Ms. Chaussee.
