A charity event organized by businessmen in Chihuahua last Friday exceeded even the wildest dreams of taco fans by creating a hefty hunk of pastor meat large enough to create 24,000 tacos.
In Friday's "Tacoton," a pastor skewer packed with pork meat weighed in at a belly-bursting 3.9 tons and was 13 feet tall, according to the Mexican government news agency, Notimex. Portions of the behemoth pastor were sold with a drink to hungry spectators at 10 pesos a piece. Proceeds from the event, financed by Chihuahua businessmen, were donated to a home for abandoned children, reported Notimex. Officials from the Guinness Book of World Records recognized the pastor chunk as the world's "largest skewer of kebab meat." |
