Dear Sir,
I was born in El Salto and have now lived in San Jose, California for 13 years. I just read the article about the river and El Salto – finally, someone thinks as I do. I have for many years thought that most of the illnesses in the town these days are because of the pollution of the river. I have a sister who had cancer at one time (thank God she is now cancer free) but I am convined that she got it because of all the pollution in there. As most of you know, the government in Mexico doesn't really look into these kind of problems and does nothing to resolve them. I hope you can suggest ways for me to become involved in raising awareness about this issue. Alicia Jones |
