Dear Sir, I would like the Lakeside community to know and realize how fortunate we are to have the services of the Red Cross, Fire Department and Chapala Police. Recently, I was in an accident, hit by another car. My van flipped over and all three services were there instantly.
A friend, who was several cars behind me, told me that everyone at the scene was very attentive and knew what they were supposed to do. It took the Fire Department about an hour to blow-torch the top of the van in order to get me out. They covered my head with a blanket to shield me from the windows and glass they had to remove. The police allowed my friend to stay at the scene to keep me calm. She told me the Red Cross officials were wonderful, the police were very helpful, and that the Fire Department did an extraordinary job. I, too, would personally like to say a big thank you to these services at Lakeside. Remember the Red Cross saying, "the life you save may be your own." It's a fact. We all need to support the Red Cross, Fire Department and the other fine services here at Lakeside.
