Dear Sir,
Many places in our lakeside community are experiencing an increasingly annoying problem: unleashed dogs. I am not referring to street dogs, though that is a problem, too. I refer to unleashed dogs accompanied by their owners. This careless behavior risks ugly confrontation with other dogs. Furthermore, the owners rarely pick up after them. The risk of stepping in a pile of dog feces seems to have increased greatly in recent months. I urge anyone who takes a dog for a walk along our streets to use a leash and carry a bag to pick up after it. Failure to do so demonstrates an extreme lack of common courtesy to others. If you walk your dog on the streets of our lovely community please make the effort to avoid this crass behavior. Thomas L. Ramsey |
