Dear Sir,
In your February 24 story about the protest by the residents of San Antonio over the highway project, author Dale Hoyt Palfrey cites rumors about "… entrances to village streets will be blocked as part of a nefarious scheme cooked up by Wal-Mart, soon due to start construction of a Superstore outlet at the junction with the Libramiento." In the third paragraph, Hoyt Palfrey quotes the Chapala Public Works director as saying both rumors are completely false. But it is very unclear as to what rumor(s) he is referring to beyond the one about closing entrances to village streets. This seems to suggest, without the article specifically saying anywhere else in the story, that the Wal-Mart store project is also a rumor. As this is the topic of much speculation among your readers, and others, a clarification would be greatly appreciated. Dan Houck |
