Mass at Mexico City’s Cathedral was interrupted Sunday by the chants of several dozen women in short skirts, demanding church officials retract published statements urging women not to wear miniskirts and linking them to sexual victimization.

Mexicans are under a constant bombardment to give – a peso to the beggar on the street, a contribution to the Red Cross bucket, an automated suggestion at the grocery store to round up their bill a few centavos and contribute to a pool of funds for classroom computers.
