I have a friend, Mike, who repairs computers along the shores of Lake Chapala, and who sent me the following email message: “Thought you might like a column topic. A recent version of AntiVirus 2009, which is a nasty spyware tool, has been sweeping through Ajijic ... over the last few weeks, and is becoming epidemic. I am getting almost a call every day from someone else who has been infected.”

Call it Epiphany, call it Twelfth Night, el Dia de los Tres Reyes (the Day of the Three Kings), Day of the Three Wise Men, of the Magi, call it the Twelfth Day of Christmas — by any of these (and other) names, January 6 historically is a big holiday ... and it’s older than Christmas.
