The United Nations Human Development Report has released its latest ranking of world nations. It ranks countries by considering not only their GDP per capita (or buying power per person), but also by figuring in the average life expectancies and education levels of their citizens. This year, Iceland was ranked number one. Norway, Australia, Canada and Ireland rounded out the top five. The United States slipped to 12th. Great Britain was ranked 16th, Mexico 52nd. |
