All the efforts of a stream of lawyers, bigwig Canadian politicians and a Chapala-area support group have so far not been able to secure the release of Brenda Martin from Guadalajara’s Puente Grande penitentiary.
But help from an unlikely source may be on hand for the 51-year-old Canadian, incarcerated since February 2006 while awaiting trial on charges of money laundering and involvement in a criminal conspiracy.
