In the melancholy genre of negative utopias spawned by the 20th century's World Wars, George Orwell's novel "1984" stands out both for its literary and prophetic qualities. Perhaps that is why the Video Sala at the Ex Convento del Carmen scheduled the film adaptation last - on Friday, January 28, 4 p.m., 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. - in a season featuring other classic, futuristic nightmares, such as "Fahrenheit 451" and "Soylent Green." |
