"The Constant Gardener" is the latest movie to be adapted from a John LeCarrŽ spy novel and, as you might deduce from the title, this is no rough-and-tumble full-of-action spy flick. In fact, the spy here is relegated to a strictly supporting role, appearing occasionally to enlighten the principal characters about the nature of the evil that awaits them.

The deservedly acclaimed "Hotel Rwanda," from 2004, is currently in the midst of its first widespread run in Guadalajara Cinepolis theaters, following some very short stints at independent venues over the past year. Magnificently written and acted, "Hotel Rwanda" is both powerful and engrossing. It's a true story that required telling, and this film does a remarkably admirable job of doing so.
