Even governor Emilio Gonzalez took some time to admire this replica of the San Juan de los Lagos Cathedral made of Alfajor candy, a coconut and condensed milk concoction. Although the tempting treats in the Dulces Jalisco exhibit are not for sale, samples will be available at the museum store. 'Seven young Red Kangaroos are currently on loan to the Guadalajara Zoo, much to the delight of thousands of Easter Week visitors. Zoo employees had to remodel the Australian area to house the large marsupials that can weigh up to 85 kilograms when fully grown.
The zoo is open Wednesday through Sunday, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and is located in the Huentitan Park, close to the intersection of Calzada Independencia and Periferico Norte.
