'Margarito Nuñez Martinez (a 77-year-old Tlaquepaque artisan specializing in barro negro pottery) receives the Pantaleon Panduro prize from Governor Emilio Gonzalez. The 31st National Ceramics Competition gathered 1,200 works by artisans from 21 Mexican states. Martinez, who started ceramics work when he was seven, won 75,000 pesos and a place of honor for his work alongside that of other winning pieces to show at the Museum Pantaleon Panduro.
