'The Mercado del Mar in Zapopan is Guadalajara's premier fish market. Prices are generally lower than at other outlets in the city and the quality is better. The Mercado del Mar is located on Pino Suarez, off Avenida Los Laureles, and across from the Glorieta Zapata.

Where I come from, if you're standing on the streets at lunch hour, or, say, in the middle of a mall, you can't swing a radish without hitting a packed soup and salad joint. The salad may be of the serve-yourself variety, the joint may be one of a large chain, and the atmosphere will be nothing to speak of. These salad shops are functional places in which one intakes vegetables before going back to work.
