Where I come from, if you're standing on the streets at lunch hour, or, say, in the middle of a mall, you can't swing a radish without hitting a packed soup and salad joint. The salad may be of the serve-yourself variety, the joint may be one of a large chain, and the atmosphere will be nothing to speak of. These salad shops are functional places in which one intakes vegetables before going back to work. |
