'La Tequila, restaurant owner Federico Diaz de Leon and catador Ana Maria Romero Mena played host to a table-full of invited guests at the first of what will become weekly tequila tastings at the Avenida Mexico eatery.

Ana Maria Romero Mena stood at the head of a large table that was covered with all kinds of delicious food -- seafood soups, stuffed chili peppers, and a sweet potato flan that is perhaps unrivaled in Guadalajara. But the food was just a pretext for the main event. It was there to "harmonize" with the tequila.
