Good news for race car fans: You don't need to return north to enjoy the thrills of this addictive sport. Drive up from Chapala or down from Guadalajara to the town of Toluquilla and you'll find both professionals and amateurs duelling on a quarter-mile drag racing strip that opened in 1996 and a race track that opened in 1998. Operated by the Monterrey, Nuevo Leon based Dipsa company, the Autodromo hosts both public and private events. Ochoa Well Placed In 1st LPGA Major

Tapatia golfer Lorena Ochoa is tied for second place after shooting a five-under-par 67 in the first round of the Kraft Nabisco Championship at the Mission Hills Country Club in Palm Springs, California Thursday. The Kraft Nabisco is the first major of the LPGA season, and offers prize money of 1.6 million dollars. The tournament concludes Sunday, March 28.
