The State of Nayarit has responded to the Bahia de Banderas' call for help to improve emergency service response time to the "northern" part of their territory.

American citizen Thomas Frank White was sentenced by a district court in Puerto Vallarta May 15 to more than seven years in prison for raping a minor.
 
Nayarit Tourist Office Opens

A tourist information office recently opened along Highway 200 northbound near the Jarretaderas turnoff. Visitors can help themselves to pamphlets on cultural sites such as Isla de Mexcaltitan, the legendary home of Aztec civilization; San Blas and its many natural wonders such as La Tobara estuary; cities like Tepic; and of course the fabulous beaches and hotels along the south Nayarit coast.

Bilingual Operators In The Works

Puerto Vallarta will soon have bilingual operators on hand to answer calls made to the 060 emergency telephone service in the resort area. The number can access all the major services, including the Municipal Police, Red Cross, Fire Department and Civil Protection Unit.
