'Children dress in traditional costume and present flowers at the altar
during Mass on the anniversary of the appearance of the Virgin of
Guadalupe on December 12. After the 250-year-old October 12 Virgin of
Zapopan pilgrimage from Guadalajara to the Zapopan Basilica, the
city's 209-year-old Virgin of Guadalupe festivities draw the largest
attendance of Tapatio Catholics.
