A Guadalajara judge has sentenced Canadian Brenda Martin to five years in prison and fined her 35,850 pesos for her role in a investment scam operated out of Puerto Vallarta. Rebecca Roth, a US citizen also charged in connection with the case, was also found guilty and sentenced to nine years. Judge Jose Luis Nuñez Sandoval found Martin guilty of knowingly taking part in money laundering. She has five days to appeal her sentence. |
