Luis Ubague works mornings at an English school and goes to the private university ITESO at night. He is fluent in French and English, spent several years studying in Paris and had excellent scores on his entrance exams for the University of Guadalajara (U de G) but was not accepted. Now he works around the clock to keep up with his studies and pay his way at the same time.
 
American School Leads The Way In Advanced Placement Programs

At a special meeting of the board of directors at the American School Foundation of Guadalajara, Janet Heinze, the director general, presented documentation on the Advanced Placement (AP) Program which is offered for the last two years of high school. This program provides university level courses in English Composition and Literature, Calculus, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Economics, History, Computer Technology, Studio Art, French, Spanish Composition and Spanish Literature.

The University of Guadalajara (U de G) is exploring the possibility of opening a campus in Los Angeles, California, primarily to cater to the Hispanic community.

The American School of Guadalajara won the best delegation award for the fourth year in a row and two students took home best delegate awards at last month's eighth annual United Nations Simulation in San Antonio, Texas.
 
ITESO Adopts English As 2nd Language

The Instituto Tecnologico de Estudios Superiores del Occidente (ITESO), the prestigious Jesuit-run university on Guadalajara's south side, has adopted English as its "second language."
