New Virtual Print Edition of the Guadalajara Reporter

Share

There is a new way to read the Guadalajara Reporter online: the “Virtual Print Edition”.  It looks exactly like the paper version, and is a marvelous way to read the paper without having to leave home for a copy or to wait for delivery.  My copy usually arrives on Sunday or Monday, but I can now read the Virtual Print Edition online Friday evening.  Here’s how it works.

Portable Computing

“Portability” is a technology buzzword that many new devices like netbooks, PDAs (Personal Digital Assistant), and the new iPad are springing up to provide.

Apple iTouch and iPhone

By far the most popular MP3 player is the Apple iPod in its many forms. In fact, Apple models are four of the top five best-selling MP3 players. Topping the list is the iPod Touch (or iTouch), which can do MUCH more than merely play music. The iTouch is more or less equivalent to the iPhone (an Apple smartphone), but without phone, camera and video capability. When traveling, you can leave your computer behind and survive with just an iTouch or an iPhone.

E-books and E-book readers

Share

“E-book” is the general term for digital book files read on specially designed readers, or on your computer. E-book readers use a technology called E-ink, which makes the text sharp and easy to read, and saves battery power immensely.  E-books offer similar benefits to bookworms that MP3s do for music lovers.
