Local artist Ed Burke will provide watercolor instructional sessions in his La Floresta garden each Thursday beginning December 10. He will share his knowledge of transparent watercolor techniques and the basic use of perspective in watercolor painting at the beginning of each session. This will be followed by informal critiques while participants do their own work.
Sessions will last from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. with a short break for lunch. The cost per session is 250 pesos. Each participant must commit to a minimum of three sessions and will receive a copy of Burke’s booklet, in which the secrets of the elusive vanishing points will be revealed.
Burke’s work is well known in Ajijic. He has won first place – and sometimes first and second place – in the watercolor category in each of the past eight annual Ajijic Society of the Arts judged shows. His work can be seen at www.edburkewatercolors.com and is found in collections in Canada, Scotland, the United States and Japan.
Enrollment is limited. Contact Burke at (376) 766-0479.
